Chariots of the Gods Lyrics Video

It’s always been a fun idea that aliens came to Earth and interfered with or guided our development as a young species. And movies like Prometheus, Stargate, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull play directly with those ideas. The original guy who made these popular was a Swiss author who released a book called Chariots of the Gods?  in 1968. He talked about the pyramids, Easter Island, the Nazca Lines in Peru (which can only be seen from high in the air) and the Dogon Tribe of Africa (who knew about Sirius being a binary star when there’s no way to know about it without a telescope) as evidence that we’d been visited in our ancient past by travelers from another planet. That book sat in my parents’ library when I was a kid and I was fascinated by it. And I also saw the In Search Of… Ancient Astronauts. If you grew up anywhere near the 70s, then you understood In Search Of… C’mon, it started off being narrated by Rod Serling from The Twilight Zone and then by Mr. Spock himself, Leonard frickin’ Nimoy, of course we were all going to love In Search Of… and we were all going to believe whatever that that awesome Vulcan told us. What’s more exciting than the idea that our ancestors were visited by aliens?

Well, more exciting could be the idea that we ourselves are part alien. More than just Panspermia (the idea that the original bacteria for life on Earth came from space in the first place) but that we were actually created by creatures from another planet. That we were designed, that we were meant to be something, anything. That’s the kind of hope that someone who hates their real family might have, someone that’s ashamed about where they came from. Just like an orphan would dream about their parents. Aliens as ancestors might be a lot better than the ones you were given, so why not fantasize about it?

Lyrics

Sad little one,
doesn’t wanna feel alone,
She hates the trash that spawned her,
She hates her broken home.

She likes it when I say aliens,
made Homo sapiens.
She loves it when I talk Martians and,
the Chariots of the Gods.

The blood of the unearthly,
Better than the blood of the ugly,
Bred for more than just servility,
Bred for more than this burned out hole.

Long ago and far away,
They built Easter island didn’t they?
Long ago and far away
Something mixed the DNA.

She likes it when I say aliens,
made Homo sapiens.
She loves it when I talk Martians and,
the Chariots of the Gods.

Fire rains down from the skies,
An ET with human eyes,
Not just an orphaned kid,
She’s like the pyramids,
Adopted by angels riding chariots of the gods.

Sad little one,
doesn’t wanna feel alone,
She hates the trash that spawned her,
She hates her broken home.
Long ago and far away
Something mixed the DNA.

She likes it when I say aliens,
made Homo sapiens.
She loves it when I talk Martians and,
the Chariots of the Gods.

Fire rains down from the skies,
An ET with human eyes,
Not just an orphaned kid,
She’s like the pyramids,
Adopted by angels riding chariots of the gods.

In love with it and what it means,
She loves the power in her genes.
In love with it, in love with dreams,
She loves the way it sets her free.
