A combination of theater, audience participation, multimedia stage show, and rock concert party, Sunspot’s “Major Arcana” is a rock opera that links live performances of their songs with the story of Joe, a recent college graduate who lives most of his life online. The audience sees Joe through the eyes of the people he meets in the digital world, especially an Internet Psychic whose Tarot readings form the heart of the story.

This song is “When The Revolution Comes” (a love song inspired by Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”), a perfect track for an idealist like the lead character, Joe. The card that represents him here is “The Fool” (non-coincidentally, the character that is on the cover of the first Sunspot album as well) and this is the beginning of his journey.

Sunspot’s “Major Arcana” tour was about creating a completely new type of experience that’s personal like a rock concert has the emotional weight of a musical, that’s dynamic visually like a film, and has the depth of great literature. The band premiered the show at SXSW and took it on a tour of America’s East Coast, Midwest and South.Recorded at The Annex in Madison on the last night of their tour and is a complete live production specially recorded, along with tour videos, deleted scenes, bonus songs, a commentary track, and other special features. This DVD is the culmination of the tour and stage show. can be picked up here: https://sunspot.bandcamp.com/merch/major-arcana-dvd

I know I take myself too seriously sometimes,
I know I’m a little on the edge.
Can you kiss me so I think of no one else?
Can you save me from being with myself?

How come all the songs on the radio are about you,
and all the constellations spell your name?
I don’t think the sun would rise without you,
life on earth just wouldn’t be the same.

Like a distant star that never sets,
I can see the light that brings me home.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, it can only make us stronger,
I will find a way so you will never be alone.

How come Shakespeare wrote soliloquies about you,
how did he know just how I would feel?
And even poetry is meaningless without you,
you can turn the words to something real.

When the Revolution Comes,
And your world starts to fall,
When the Revolution Comes,
It won’t mean anything at all,
When the Revolution Comes,
and your back’s against the wall…

I will be standing next to you.
